A BIT OF HISTORY

The original property consisting of 139 acres of dairy farmland located in Davidson and Williamson Counties was owned by the Williams Family.  Cave Spring Farm, as it was known then, had multiple structures, including a large barn, smokehouse, the family home built in the late 1800’s, and a springhouse that covered the entrance to a small cave and natural spring from which the farm derived its name.  In 1997, Radnor Homes purchased the property, established the Williams Grove Homeowners Association, and began developing single family homes, a process that was later completed by another developer, Pulte Homes.  Many of the streets in The Retreat section of Williams Grove were named in recognition of the Williams Family and the Farm.  Lester and Lillian Williams were the owners, Addie Glenn was Lester’s sister, Cave Springs was the name of the farm, and Dove Field was the site where grains and other seeds were grown in anticipation of dove hunting season.  In April 2002, control of the Williams Grove Homeowners Association was turned over to its elected Board of Directors, and a new chapter in its history began.

WILLIAMS GROVE TODAY

When you enter Williams Grove community, the first thing you notice after the attractive stacked stone walls and mature landscaping is the Williams Grove Farmhouse with its warm and inviting wraparound porches, a perfect venue for parties, meetings and community social events.  The pool and lighted tennis courts are very popular among the residents, especially on weekends; and the playground receives its fair share of attention from the younger residents with their parents in tow.  Landscaped common areas are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood and the spring for which the farm was named leisurely winds its way through the community.  Williams Grove is a perfect place for families to walk, bike, and get together with friends and neighbors.  Its well-lit streets create a sense of safety and security for a late evening stroll.  Some of the Williams Grove residents have been in the community since its inception, and newcomers are warmly welcomed.  Its proximity to shopping, dining, medical resources, public and private schools, and two major highways create an ideal location in which to live.

Although neighborhood location is important, it is the people who live there who make it a strong and vibrant community.
